Purchase all 3 of our online Gait Analysis courses as a package and save!
Package includes:
Foundations Course = 4 hours
Gait in Biomechanical Conditions = 2 hours
Gait in Neurological Conditions = 2 hours
Certificates automatically generated at the end of each course.
Foundations Course Lessons include:
– Functional Vs. Textbook Anatomy – Textbooks tend to refer to muscle function in a non-weight bearing state. This module will teach you how muscles act in a weight bearing, functional state.
– Upper-body Restrictions on Gait – an introduction to Anatomical Slings and how the lower body affects the upper body in gait. This lesson is particularly valuable to Podiatrists who often haven’t been taught much upper-body mechanics.
– Gait Analysis Framework – This module will teach you how to break-down your gait analysis using our unique framework and will work through common gait patterns. You will be taught to translate your findings in gait analysis into functional tests, and will refine your biomechanical assessments.
Gait in Biomechancial Conditions Course Lessons include:
– Patella Femoral Joint Pain (PFJP) Vs. Patella Tendinopathy
– Medial Tibial Stress Syndrom (MTSS)
– Anterior Shin Pain
– Tibial Stress Fracture
– Achilles Tendinopathy
– Peroneal pain in the Pronated vs. Supinated Foot Types
– Tibialis Posterior Dysfunction/Tendinopathy
– Plantar Fasciopathy in the Pronated vs. Supinated Foot Types
Gait in Neurological Conditions Course Lessons include:
Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis and other Upper Motor Neurone presentations:
Learn key assessment and treatment considerations in a range of neurological conditions depending on the cause and the individual client.
Areas to target treatment: strength, coordination and sensation. Tam expands on this with examples, including some manual therapy examples.
Parkinson’s Disease:
Learn to understand the gait presentation in Parkinson’s and how to treat.
Treatments covered include: task break down, dual tasking, Balance/retrain protective strategies, falls prevention, gait aids, verbal and visual cues, use of counting and rhythm, large amplitude movements, armswing and trunk rotation,
Foot-drop:
Learn and understand common causes of foot drop, and understand treatment approaches depending on the cause.
Treatments covered include: AFOs, Foot Up Devices and Bioness System (Functional Electrical Stimulation).
